Maryland Casinos Generate $149.3 Million During July

Casino gaming revenue contributes $61.7 million to the state

Maryland Lottery and Gaming today announced that July 2019 gaming revenues for the state’s six casinos were $149,328,379. The total represents a $2,830,348 (1.9%) increase compared to the July 2018 total of $146,498,031.

Contributions to the State of Maryland from July 2019 casino gaming revenue totaled $61,719,065, including $46,291,949 for the Education Trust Fund. Casino gaming revenues also support local communities and jurisdictions 6where the six casinos are located, as well as Maryland’s horse racing industry.

Maryland has six privately owned casinos that offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

Four of the six casinos saw year-over-year increases compared to their July 2018 gaming revenue totals:

MGM National Harbor (3,139 slot machines, 199 table games)
$60,763,118 in July 2019, an increase of $2,418,054 (4.1%) from July 2018.

Live! Casino & Hotel (3,779 slot machines, 191 table games)
$49,275,125 in July 2019, an increase of $1,549,385 (3.2%) from July 2018.

Horseshoe Casino Baltimore (2,201 slot machines, 145 table games)
$19,386,636 in July 2019, a decrease of $1,059,938 (-5.2%) from July 2018.

Hollywood Casino Perryville (822 slot machines, 21 table games)
$6,525,756 in July 2019, an increase of $362,586 (5.9%) from July 2018.

Ocean Downs Casino (888 slot machines, 17 table games)
$8,183,874 in July 2019, a decrease of $472,610 (-5.5%) from July 2018.

Rocky Gap Casino Resort (665 slot machines, 18 table games)
$5,193,871 in July 2019, an increase of $32,872 (0.6%) from July 2018.
