Sports Wagering Contributes $9.1 Million to the State During April ’26

(Baltimore) — Maryland’s sports wagering market generated $9,140,902 in contributions to the state during April 2026. Through the first 10 months of Fiscal Year 2026 (July 2025 through April 2026), sports wagering has returned a total of $114,796,282 to the state.

Sports bettors in Maryland wagered $574,228,456 during April and won back $511,137,993 in prizes. Sportsbook operators held 11.0% of the handle.

Of the $9.1 million in state contributions from April, nearly $6.9 million went to public education programs supported by the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund. Since the inception of the sports wagering program in December 2021, $263,910,854 has gone to the Blueprint Fund.

Retail sports wagering operators contribute 15% of their taxable proceeds to the Blueprint Fund. Mobile operators contribute 15% of their proceeds to the Blueprint Fund and 5% to the state’s General Fund. In April, the combined retail and mobile contribution to the Blueprint Fund was $6,890,062, while an additional $2,250,841 in mobile proceeds went to the General Fund.

Since the inception of Maryland’s sports wagering program in December 2021:

  • Cumulative contribution to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund: $263,910,854
  • Cumulative contribution to the General Fund: $28,262,160 (5% of mobile taxable win since July 2025)
  • Cumulative expired prizes contributed to the Problem Gambling Fund: $5,506,970
