Maryland Casinos Generate $154.9 Million in Revenue During October

Casinos contribute $68.9 million to the state

(Baltimore) – Maryland’s six casinos combined to generate $154,978,898 in gaming revenue during October 2021. The total represents an increase of $12,318,813 (8.6%) compared to October 2020, when the casinos were limited to 50% capacity due to COVID-19.

Casino gaming contributions to the state in October 2021 totaled $68,924,035, an increase of $8,990,765 (15.0%) compared to the $59,933,270 contributed to the state in October 2020.

Contributions to the Education Trust Fund (ETF) in October 2021 were $50,039,996, an increase of $6,472,504 (14.8%) compared to the $43,576,492 in ETF contributions during October 2020. Casino gaming revenues also support the communities and jurisdictions where the casinos are located, Maryland’s horse racing industry, and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.

Maryland’s six privately owned casinos offer both slot machines and table games: MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County; Live! Casino & Hotel in Anne Arundel County; Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City; Ocean Downs Casino in Worcester County; Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County; and Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County.

The gaming revenue totals for October 2021 are as follows:

Live! Casino & Hotel (3,787 slot machines, 187 table games)
$60,817,605 in October 2021, an increase of $11,256,037 (22.7%) from October 2020

MGM National Harbor (2,158 slot machines, 201 table games)
$55,882,049 in October 2021, a decrease of $685,981 (-1.2%) from October 2020

Horseshoe Casino (1,517 slot machines, 137 table games)
$17,180,270 in October 2021, a decrease of $151,046 (-0.9%) from October 2020

Ocean Downs Casino (849 slot machines, 18 table games)
$7,664,457 in October 2021, an increase of $713,393 (10.3%) from October 2020

Hollywood Casino (727 slot machines, 18 table games)
$7,639,030 in October 2021, an increase of $633,706 (9.0%) from October 2020

Rocky Gap Casino (621 slot machines, 16 table games)
$5,795,487 in October 2021, an increase of $552,704 (10.5%) from October 2020
