Year-to-year revenues increase at three casinos
(BALTIMORE) – Maryland Lottery and Gaming today announced September 2017 revenue numbers for the state’s six casinos: Hollywood Casino Perryville in Cecil County, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore in Baltimore City, Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County, Live! Casino in Anne Arundel County, Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County and MGM National Harbor in Prince George’s County. Maryland’s casinos totaled $134,535,733 in revenue during September 2017 – an increase of $37,439,454, or 38.6%, compared to the September 2016 figure of $97,096,278.
In a year-to-year comparison not including MGM National Harbor, which opened on Dec. 8, 2016, statewide casino revenue in September 2017 decreased by $11,922,799, or 12.3%.
MGM National Harbor generated $49,362,253 from both slot machines and table games in September. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day in September at MGM National Harbor was: $299.29 for slot machines, $5,141.37 for banked table games and $1,445.12 for non-banked table games. MGM National Harbor operates 3,087 slot machines and 168 (129 banked and 39 non-banked) table games.
Live! Casino totaled $46,960,132 from both slot machines and table games in September. Live! Casino’s gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $255.26 for slot machines, $3,830.60 for banked table games and $912.62 for non-banked table games. September 2017 revenue at Live! Casino decreased by $6,961,310, or 12.9%, from September 2016. Live! Casino operates 3,872 slot machines and 190 (138 banked and 52 non-banked) table games.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore generated $20,994,619 from both slot machines and table games in September. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $194.05 for slot machines, $1,683.49 for banked table games and $632.88 for non-banked table games. Horseshoe Casino’s September 2017 revenue decreased by $5,946,742, or 22.1%, from September 2016. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore operates 2,202 slot machines and 176 (153 banked and 23 non-banked) table games.
Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $5,925,449 from both slot machines and table games in September. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $211.33 for slot machines, $1,587.24 for banked table games and $392.20 for non-banked table games. Hollywood Casino’s September 2017 revenue increased by $3,287, or 0.1%, from September 2016. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 822 slot machines and 21 (13 banked and 8 non-banked) table games.
Casino at Ocean Downs generated $6,586,593 from slot machines in September, and its gross gaming revenue per unit per day was $274.26. Casino at Ocean Downs’ September 2017 revenue increased by $710,996, or 12.1%, from September 2016. Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines and does not have table games.
Rocky Gap Casino Resort generated $4,706,686 from both slot machines and table games in September. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day was: $206.23 for slot machines and $1,149.80 for banked table games. Rocky Gap Casino Resort’s September 2017 revenue increased by $270,970, or 6.1%, from September 2016. Rocky Gap Casino Resort operates 665 slot machines and 17 banked table games. This facility does not have non-banked table games.
Under Maryland law, casino revenue supports the Maryland Education Trust Fund, local impact grants, local jurisdictions, the state’s horse racing industry and the Maryland General Fund.
