(Baltimore) — The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission (MLGCC) today issued an online sports wagering operator license to Hillside (Maryland) LLC, doing business as bet365. Hillside (Maryland) LLC/bet365 is providing the mobile platform for sports wagering licensee Riverboat on the Potomac, located in Charles County.
On Aug. 28, bet365 successfully completed a controlled demonstration of its mobile platform. Customers participated in live wagering as Maryland Lottery and Gaming staff ensured that the sportsbook complied with all required procedures and that its systems functioned properly.
Riverboat on the Potomac previously offered mobile sports wagering with operator partner PointsBet from Nov. 23, 2022 until Jan. 30, 2024, when PointsBet sold its U.S. operations to Fanatics. With the addition of the bet365 platform, there are 12 mobile/online sportsbooks and 13 retail sportsbook locations operating in Maryland. Riverboat on the Potomac also offers retail sports wagering with operator partner Fanatics. A complete list of retail and mobile sports wagering licensees is available at mdgaming.com.
